The Choral

1916. As war rages on the Western Front, the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire has lost most of its men to the army. The Choral's ambitious committee, determined to press ahead, decides to recruit local young males to swell their ranks. Together, they experience the joy of singing while the young men grapple with their impending conscription into the army. The Choral is a heart-warming, old-fashioned British crowd-pleaser with glorious music and a superb performance from Ralph Fiennes.

Star Cinema does not have any designated parking, however are several convenient parking options nearby:

  • Street Parking: Free 2-hour street parking is available on Third Street and nearby side streets.
  • Public Parking Lots: Sidney’s public lots offer 3-hour free parking. The closest lots to the theatre are Lot B and Lot C:
    • Lot B can be accessed from Third or Second Street.
    • Lot C is located directly behind our building, with access from Fourth Street.
  • Evening Parking: After 5 p.m., many nearby business lots are available for public use — please check signage to confirm.
  • Drop-Off Area: While there are no designated accessible parking spaces, there are spots directly in front of the cinema where passengers can be dropped off.

Star Cinema is happy to accommodate reservations for the following:

  • Groups of 6 or more
  • Guests requiring an accessible spot
  • Birthday parties

To make a reservation, please call us at 250-655-3384. Our team will be happy to assist you and ensure your visit goes smoothly.

  • For our regular film screenings, Star Cinema currently does not sell advance tickets online or in person. We recommend arriving about 20 minutes before the show starts to ensure you get a seat. For popular films, please consider arriving 30 minutes early to avoid missing out.
  • For our special event cinema screenings, such as The Metropolitan Opera, National Theatre Live, and other concert events, advance tickets are available at the box office.

Star Cinema opens its doors 30 minutes before the first show of the day. For example, if matinees begin at 1:45 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 2:30 p.m., the theatre will open at 1:15 p.m.

We encourage guests to arrive about 20 minutes before their show starts to find parking, get settled, and enjoy the experience.

Please note that the theatre closes between matinee and evening screenings.
